Long time no update! These comics have been hiding in a box in storage for half a year and were drawn well before that. As mentioned in the last post, we’re rearing up for a darker turn in the subject matter towards dealing with depression and other issues. It might be tough to see. When I made these comics I wasn’t ready to show them to anyone. Enough time has passed that they don’t hurt so much.

…And thus we view the birth of Captain T. This comic took a long time to upload. If you look at the date of the last few updates and the dates of the drawings there are obvious gaps. Coming up is going to be starting to work through some depression stuff. While I did these comics a long time ago, there hurt to make. I put them in a folder and the folder in a drawer. After moving several states over, changing jobs, and having most of my material possessions in storage I lost track of them. Upon re-discovery I know what I’m going to do with this comic now. Before the vision wasn’t so clear.

Before, I knew I had to make a comic about this stuff but being in the middle of the dark spot I was trying to distract myself with happy colors and jokes (just like real life). The truth of it is I was really broken during this period of time. I no longer am that way but have the strength to write about it now. LOG is about that. Captain T is happier stuff. I’m glad I was able to share it with you here before making it into something bigger.

But the comic’s subject matter might turn towards the dark after I get through these backlog archives… These have to be posted first… Thank you.

So here we see King Ollie for the first time, which is based on another one of our great cats.  He is the happiest feline in the world, very easy going, and just enjoys sleeping, eating and occasionally hunting down a tasty rodent or two.   He does have some great poses while sleeping which I’m sure Amber will make sure to show off in future episodes!

Oops. This comic was skipped in the uploading process too. Retroactively inserted.

We thought that Capt. T should be an adventurer with a want of wealth and comfort, as any cat would, but for Tweeker it was the adventure as much as the opportunity for treasure.  Plus the goggles that Capt. T. gets to wear are pretty cool, like Indiana Jones’ fedora is iconic to him, I think the goggles will become a trademark for him.

So no one said being a human anchor would be easy.  But If that’s the only job she can get then she is happy to do it, sore, but happy.  This dream is the start of a great idea that Amber had for her children’s programming much like Ducktails, or Darkwing Duck, or Chip N’ Dale’s Rescue Rangers.  She would love to see this adventure tale come to life for kids all over, every generation needs some great fantasy.

So here we have Amber as her character “Addie” being used as a flying anchor.  I know I wouldn’t be able to do that, with my fear of heights.  I do love landscape image, and the shot of the ship.  There is some great use of emotion and movement in this cartoon.  I just wish I could see into her head sometimes and see this world she has created for the cats.
