When I moved to Minneapolis I did so with my boyfriend at the time. He worked at a design studio there (briefly before returning to Canada) called Fuzzy Duck Design.

My dad was an old surfer who followed a good wave break down the coast to Quatros Casas, Baja Mexico. We had a trailer, a porch, a place for tents for the kids, no running water, no electricity, and we hauled down everything, but it was our “Vacation home,” in the middle of an impoverished part of the country. There was a house there with a fugitive from the US living there who advertised room space for the wave break there (in a HOUSE) but because you had to haul your own water he had a water truck make a delivery about once a month. He had a generator for a water heater, but most people bought the cold showers there.
